Walldo Privacy Policy

Walldo (“Walldo”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is a modern, Material 3 Expressive wallpaper discovery and customization mobile application developed by Sarthak Jain under Offbeat Applications (Package ID: com.apps.offbeat.walldo).

Walldo provides users with high-resolution phone backgrounds, curated from public wallpaper repositories (Wallhaven API) and community-driven feeds (Reddit RSS), enhanced by Material You dynamic color harmonizing, palette-based searching, resolution presets, and AMOLED dark mode aesthetics.

We firmly believe that personalizing your phone should never come at the cost of your digital privacy. This Privacy Policy describes transparently how Walldo interacts with device capabilities, what minimal technical data is stored locally, how advertising is served responsibly via Google AdMob and the User Messaging Platform (UMP), and your rights under global data protection laws including the Google Play Developer Policies, GDPR, and CCPA/CPRA.

Unlike many media apps, Walldo operates with a privacy-by-design architecture. We do not maintain any user accounts or back-end member databases. You do not log in, and we have no mechanism to track who you are.

• No Personal Profile Data: We never ask for or record your name, email address, phone number, gender, date of birth, or social media logins.
• No Contact Lists or Social Graph: Walldo does not request access to your address book, contacts list, or communications.
• No Precise Location Tracking: We never request or monitor your GPS, satellite, or fine location.
• No Camera or Microphone Access: Walldo contains no functionality requiring recording, cameras, or audio sensors.
• No File Indexing or Photo Scanning: The app never scans, indexes, reads, or examines existing personal files or family photos in your gallery.

To deliver a fast, responsive, and personalized experience, Walldo stores your configuration and preferences locally on your hardware using standard Android SharedPreferences and temporary file caches. None of this information is transmitted to Offbeat Applications servers:

• Bookmarked Wallpapers (Favorites): When you tap the heart icon on a wallpaper, its metadata (ID, resolution, preview link, author) is saved locally in your on-device favorites list (favorites_v2).
• Curated Communities: Subscribed and customized wallpaper subreddits (e.g., MobileWallpaper, Amoledbackgrounds) are stored locally in communities_v2.
• Recent Search Queries: To speed up your workflow, your last search queries (up to 8 terms) are remembered on-device. You can clear them at any time in the search interface with one tap.
• Theming & UI Preferences: Your selected theme mode (system, light, or dark), Material You dynamic color preference, seed color (Amber, Coral Pink, Violet, Blue, etc.), AMOLED pure black mode, and grid column layout count (2 or 3 columns).
• Temporary Image Cache (walldo_full): Full-resolution wallpaper previews you inspect are temporarily stored in your app cache directory using a rolling cache with a 7-day stale period and a maximum limit of 60 cached objects to avoid taking up unnecessary device storage.

Walldo only requests the minimal set of operating system permissions necessary to deliver wallpaper browsing, downloading, and applying functionality. Each permission has a strictly defined, transparent purpose:

Walldo connects to public content endpoints to index and present high-quality wallpaper artwork. All outgoing requests are made with standard HTTPS encryption and transparent identifiers:

• Wallhaven API (https://wallhaven.cc/api/v1): Walldo searches and displays artwork hosted on Wallhaven. We strictly enforce a Safe-For-Work purity filter (purity=100) to ensure all retrieved imagery is family-friendly and compliant with Google Play content guidelines. Outgoing requests identify the app transparently with the User-Agent android:com.apps.offbeat.walldo:v2.0.0 (Walldo wallpapers). Artist usernames and tags are preserved for creative attribution.
• Reddit Public RSS Feeds (https://www.reddit.com/r/.../.rss): Walldo parses publicly accessible RSS feeds from popular wallpaper communities (such as r/MobileWallpaper, r/Amoledbackgrounds, etc.). The app does not require a Reddit login, does not use OAuth tokens, and never sends personal Reddit credentials.
• In-Memory API Caching: To prevent excessive network requests and protect rate limits, Walldo includes a lightweight, temporary in-memory HTTP cache. Repeated navigation within a 10-minute window avoids hitting remote servers needlessly.

To keep Walldo free and support ongoing maintenance and feature development, we display non-intrusive advertisements served through Google AdMob.

We believe advertising should respect your time and comfort. Interstitial ads in Walldo are strictly paced: they appear at most once after every four significant actions (e.g., setting or downloading wallpapers), separated by a mandatory minimum cooldown interval of at least 90 seconds.

Google AdMob may collect and process pseudonymous identifiers (such as Google Advertising ID / GAID), coarse location data, device diagnostics, and ad interaction metrics to deliver and measure advertisements in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. Offbeat Applications itself never accesses, links, or stores your Advertising ID.

• Updating Your Consent at Any Time: If you are in a jurisdiction requiring privacy consent (such as the EU/EEA), Walldo provides an accessible Privacy Options button in app settings that allows you to review, change, or revoke your advertising consent preferences whenever you wish.

Walldo is designed for general audiences seeking smartphone wallpapers. The application is not directed at or targeted to children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union).

We do not knowingly collect, request, or maintain any personal information from children. Our content feeds are strictly filtered to SFW (Safe-For-Work) ratings. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided any personal information through third-party advertising or other channels, please contact us immediately at offbeatapplications@gmail.com so we can take appropriate corrective measures.

Because we collect no personal identity data, there is no personal database to share or sell. Highly unlikely, but we would only disclose technical information if compelled to do so by a valid, legally enforceable court order or subpoena issued by law enforcement authorities under applicable jurisdiction.

You maintain total control and ownership over everything saved while using Walldo:

• Deleting Favorites & Communities: You can un-favorite any wallpaper or swipe to remove customized communities directly in the app interface at any time.
• Clearing Search History: A single tap in the search page clears all stored search suggestions permanently.
• Clearing Temporary Cache: You can instantly reclaim storage space by navigating to your device's Settings → Apps → Walldo → Storage → Clear Cache.
• Complete Deletion upon Uninstall: When you uninstall Walldo, Android automatically wipes all associated local preferences, favorites, and cached files from your device.

We may periodically update this Privacy Policy to reflect app updates, new features, or modifications in legal regulations. When changes are made, the revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated “Effective Date” at the top.
