Privacy Policy

Jinvani (“Jinvani”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is an offline digital e-reader of sacred Jain texts, poojas, stotras, and chalisas designed and developed by Sarthak Jain under Offbeat Applications. Jinvani is available as a native mobile application on Android (Google Play Store) and iOS (Apple App Store).

We believe that spiritual study and sacred reading should remain completely calm, distraction-free, and private. This Privacy Policy describes how Jinvani handles information, your privacy protections, and our adherence to global privacy regulations, including Google Play Developer Policies and Apple App Store Review Guidelines.

Unlike many modern applications, Jinvani does not operate remote servers for user data processing. We do not maintain any user database or telemetry pipeline.

• No Account or Identity Data: You do not need to create an account, log in, or provide an email address, telephone number, name, or password.
• No Telemetry or Usage Analytics: We do not log what texts you read, your reading speed, how often you open the app, or how you interact with specific verses.
• No Device Identifiers or Fingerprinting: We do not collect Advertising IDs (GAID/IDFA), MAC addresses, IMEI, IP addresses, or device hardware fingerprints.
• No Location Tracking: The app does not request, access, or record GPS or network-based location data.

To deliver an effortless, tailored reading experience, Jinvani saves certain user preferences locally on your physical device using standard on-device storage mechanisms (such as Android Shared Preferences and iOS NSUserDefaults):

• Favorites: The list of texts you have marked with the heart (♡) icon for quick reference.
• Custom Collections (Combos): User-created reading sets (e.g. morning nitya niyam poojas, vidhan tracks), including custom collection names and manual ordering of texts.
• Reading Configuration: UI language (English / हिन्दी), visual theme mode (Light, Dark, pure AMOLED black), primary theme tint, font family, font size, line spacing, text boldness, and alignment.

This preference data is stored strictly in your device's private sandboxed app directory. It is never transmitted over the network to us or any third party.

Data Deletion & Device Backups: You can reset favorites and settings at any time within the app's Settings screen. If you uninstall Jinvani from your device, all locally stored preferences are automatically deleted by the operating system. If you utilize standard OS cloud backups (Google Drive backup on Android or Apple iCloud Backup on iOS), your local preferences may be backed up as part of your system backup, strictly governed by your personal Google or Apple account settings.

Jinvani is deliberately built to operate with zero runtime permissions. The application does not ask for or require access to:

• No Sensitive Permissions: No access to Camera, Microphone, Photo Library, Contacts, Calendar, SMS, Call Logs, or External Filesystem.
• No Internet Requirement: Android release builds declare no internet permissions. All texts, scriptures, commentaries, and Devanagari typography are bundled offline inside the application bundle.

Jinvani contains minimal, user-controlled touchpoints that may interact with external applications on your device:

• Share App Action: Tapping “Share this app” in Settings opens your operating system's native share sheet with a store download link. You maintain complete control over which messaging app, contact, or platform to share with. Jinvani does not monitor, transmit, or record what you share.
• Educational & Scholarly Links: In the text details notes (पाठ परिचय), optional links to scholarly articles or Wikipedia entries are provided to learn more about historic Jain poets, acharyas, and composers. When tapped, these open in your default web browser outside of Jinvani, where that website’s respective privacy policy applies.

We maintain a strict stance against commercial monetization models that sacrifice user privacy:

Voluntary Support & In-App Purchases: If optional voluntary support donations or one-time purchases (such as “Support the App”) are offered, all monetary transactions are processed securely and directly by Google Play Billing on Android or Apple App Store StoreKit on iOS.

As the developer, we never receive, process, or store your credit card number, bank details, billing address, or payment credentials. All payment processing is subject to Google’s and Apple’s respective privacy policies and terms of service.

Jinvani is an educational and devotional literature reader intended for general audiences, families, and individuals of all ages.

Because Jinvani collects zero personal information from any user, we do not knowingly solicit, collect, or store personal data from children under the age of 13 (or under the applicable age of consent in your jurisdiction), in complete compliance with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), EU GDPR-K, and Google Play Families Policy requirements.

Because we do not collect or maintain your personal data on any server, we have no personal information to provide to data brokers, advertising networks, or third parties. We may only disclose information if strictly compelled by law, subpoena, or valid legal order; however, because no personal information is collected by our systems, no identifying user records exist to disclose.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect future software enhancements or changes in statutory regulations. If an update occurs, the revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated “Effective Date”.

If any future release introduces features that alter how data is handled (such as optional online cloud sync for reading collections), we will prominently update this policy prior to release and outline the changes within the app’s release notes on Google Play and Apple App Store.
